Multilingualism and
multicultural aspects influence our daily lives. Therefore the
speech and language therapist needs to acknowledge all types of
practice within his/her area of work.
The theme was
deliberately chosen as a new challenge speech and language
therapists must confront. As Europe grows larger, the population
needing Speech and Language Therapy in their mother tongue or maybe
in a common language shared with the therapist will grow.
So we need to reflect
on the developing role of speech and language therapists. There are
at present only a limited number of studies concerning
multiculturalism and multilingualism. |
